GOLDEN WOK WURZBACH 8822 WURZBACH RD SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS
Located at 8822 Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78240, Golden Wok operates as a chinese restaurant serving San Antonio in Texas. Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 amβ9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (210) 615-8282. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, goldenwoksa.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.3 out of 5 from 4,458 reviews, which is a strong result for a chinese restaurant in San Antonio and suggests consistent service.
San Antonio is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around San Antonio is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Food is excellent. Cleanliness good. Food is made out in the open which is another plus. The service can be hit or miss. Sometimes you get a top server and other times not. I usually request it and expect the hostess to know who is who. They are sometimes new and know nothing. Appetizers should come before entrees and entrees should come out together. Two people should not be eating while others wait. Sauces should come to the table before the food. We shouldnβt have to wait while the food gets cold. Water should be refilled. Soda should not be brought at the end of the meal. I get these are low paying jobs and serving isnβt a career path but If I am paying, I expect basic good competent service. I donβt want free meals like I have received. I want to pay for my meals but I want good service. Why is that so hard? If a server struggles give them fewer tables to handle. Itβs not rocket science.

I heard of this place online. I honestly feel like I knew it existed but had never been. To keep it simple. I was actually impressed with the food here. We got Sesame Chicken with Brown rice. Lo Mein Noodles with Chicken. A Hot and Sour Soup, Taro Root Cake, and Cream Cheese Crab Rangoons. Everything served was done fresh. The appetizers came out rather quick, unfortunately the main entrees took quite some time to come out, and tbh it kinda ruined the flow of the meal, because it was already mostly full with the appetizers by the time the food came out. It's a minor gripe, but it's important to note that main dishes are served slow. But taste wise everything was very good. Great flavors all around. My mom didn't enjoy the Hot and Sour Soup. She thought the texture was too thick, so she had to thin out the Soup by adding a bit more hot water which we asked for. The sesame chicken had really good flavor, the thick sauce had a nice tangy flavor and the chicken was lightly breaded and fried. I really enjoyed it. Value wise, it's more expensive than other places and they don't offer the same level of food as other places. I thought the portion of the Sesame Chicken for $15 was a little

Nice spot in the Medical Center area. Wide pan-Asian menu with entrees prepared fresh to order. Service is always wonderful. Servers are polite and welcoming and quick with drink refills. The egg rolls, Szchehuan Beef and Cantonese Lo Mein with beef are out go to orders. Large Dim Sum menu on offer, as well as daily lunch specials featuring soup, entree, fried rice, and iced tea for a reasonable price. If you're in the area and craving something different, worth the stop!

Went for dinner. Ordered appetizers and main course. Appetizers came after the main course. Plates were broken and not so clean. Orange chicken and Kung pao Chicken were too chewy. Not so good. Broccoli Chicken was good, chicken noodle were good, fried rice were ok. Veggies spring rolls size was good but flavor was blend, chicken pot stickers chicken was too dry. Over all not very good experience. It was smokey inside which was little hard to breathe and eyes were burning.

The restaurant was pretty packed when we walked in. There were so many people waiting for tables. We asked for a table for 2 and gave a name. The hostess did not write my name down correctly but I honestly think they need a better system for waiting tables. After waiting a while, I noticed these 2 guys stood up when they called something that resembled my name. I went over after she came back from sitting them down and she was defensive about it. I told her that my name was no longer on the papers she had at the podium and so she had another waitress quickly sit us down. When they handed us the plates, they were visibly dirty (like they had been rinsed and not actually washed). And chopsticks and other utensils were not given until we asked for them. We ordered crispy noodles and black pepper beef and got some dim sum (xiu mai, crispy shrimp balls, bbq pork buns, and chicken feet). The buns and chicken feet and crispy shrimp balls were cold and stale. The noodles were bland and oily. It tasted like eating noodles lathered in oil. The baby corn was also sour and tasted spoiled. I informed the waiter, he said he would tell his manager. The pepper beef wasnβt too bad but nothing speci
